Its true what they said that ramadhan is the month of reflections.A lot of things had happened in my life in the past two weeks(not just about my father but other things also) which had altered my perceptions towards life.Maybe due to too much thinking i had to go to the clinic today as my head is constantly throbbing . The doctor had diagnosed me with stress related illness and had advice me to rest and take things easy and slowly . Thank goodness Hari Raya is just around the corner . I will take this opportunity to take a very long rest and enjoy the free time that i have with my family.

It's time to stop pondering and move on with my life , lesson had been learned and i guess things like this happened for a reason and i bet a few years down the road i will be thankful that things had happen the way it was as it is an indication/sign that you need to improve the way you live your life.

Hong Kong

First time i had been to Hong Kong was in september , 2003 at the height of the Bird Flu epidemic.Back then almost nobody would want to go to Hong Kong and the flight ticket was damn cheap.I had bought my ticket for 5 days 4 night inclusive of hotel from cathay pacific at a price of RM980 inclusive tax.I love Hong Kong so much that i had went there again and again afterwards. My latest trip to Hong Kong was last year but sadly i had accidently erased all the softcopy and what was left was the picture below taken on my first trip to Hong Kong in 2003 .

What i love the most about Hong Kong is its seafood.Almost all the seafood is served fresh and walking along the seafood restaurant, it is as if you are walking past a vast aquarium complex .Almost all the seafood is alive and kickin' .

Although i love Hong Kong but there is a limit on how many days i can tolerate Hong Kong.Apart from the high cost of living , hong kong was extremely crowded especially at peak hours and there are times you will feel yourself suffocated in the middle of hong kong. The were literally thousands of people at a time in the main street of hong kong and plus this with the fact that you can't virtually see the horizon due to the density of the city skyscraper , you could easily feel intoxicated and nauseas if you can't get used to it.Despite all this , Hong Kong is still a very nice place to visit and for me the only cheap way to escape this madness is by boarding the Star Ferry at night from the Jetty near the Bauhinia square across the straits to Tsim Tsa Tsui. The sight at night is truely a sight to behold. With the cold wind gushing through your body and the view of the skyscaper in front of you , you are totally at peace with yourself.

Although the cost of living in Hong Kong is very high , almost equivalent as in europe by comparison but the price of goods is not that expensive and at times are cheaper than malaysia. This could be due to Shenzen , China is just a stone throw away from hong kong . I can't exactly remember the finer detail of my trip but i believe that i had xplored all of Hong Kong .Will definitely visit there again if i got the time and budget.

There are still people who cares

I had found a very interesting blog on the net while bloghopping.A very noble effort by Monier Mat Din in helping out the poor. What make his effort stand out among the rest is that he does not request direct financial assistance to be given to him(which indicates his sincererity) .He encourage that you yourself give your assistance directly to the poor with he himself volunteering to be your guide to that particular places.

It is good to know that there are still people who cares about the needy without any ulterior motive unlike some of the politicians in Malaysia whom suddenly appear out of the blue to help the needy only during the elections.

It is a humbling experience to read his blog on people who really indeed in needs. There are people i know (including myself) who are too concern on finding the right investment vehicle in making their first million but on the other hand there are still people who still can't afford to have a decent meal.People (myself included) sometime can be selfish and are too preoccupied to create more and more wealth for themselves without enriching others.

Kudos!! to Monier Mat Din for your effort.May Allah bless you.

Selamat Berbuka to all.

The below are some of the excerpt from Monier blog

Please check out this link to his blog to learn more about his activity

Potrait of Xplorer Jr

My Daughter , Xplorer Jr

Hari Raya is just around the corner and what makes this year hari raya so special is the addition of my new family member , Xplorer Jr. I had a crazy time celebrating hari raya when i was a kid living in a kampung(village).Back then Hari Raya is synonymous with homemade bamboo cannon . Even during my time bamboo cannon could be considered old technology and me and my friend had step up our knowledge by replacing bamboo with an old steel lighting post which prove to be tougher.I know that i was very dangerous to play with homemade cannon regardless on wheter you used bamboo or steel and as an adult i disapproved it . But this sort of crazy things that you do as a kid that you will remember the most throughout your entire life and i could imagine myself telling stories to my daughter later on how i celebrated hari raya as a kid living in a small village.

But there is more to clebrating hari raya in KAMPUNG than just the homemade cannon , it is hard to describe in words but you do feel the warmth of other people during hari raya.I feel sad thinking that my daugther will not have a chance to celebrate Hari Raya in true KAMPUNG style .

Geoduck Clam

<span class=

<span class=

I had found a rather funny looking shell fish called GEODUCK over the net which bears resemblance to the human penis. The geoduck , Panopea abrupta, is a species of very large saltwater clam found in the northwest coast of US and Canada. The shell of this clam is large, about 15 to over 20 cm in length (about 7 to 9 inches), but the extremely long siphons make the clam itself very much longer than this: the "neck" or siphons alone can be one meter in length.Geoduck is one of the longest living creature in the animal kingdom with a life expectancy of 146 years with the oldest recorded at 160 years. There are a variety of ways to cook geoduck. It can easily be blanched, stir-fried or cooked up in chowder.

Anybody out there know where i could buy Geoduck or Elephant Trunk Clam in Malaysia? Please let me know as i would really like to sample its unique taste.
