Ana ikan bakar petai , tanjung lumpur , kuantan

Your visit to kuantan will not be complete if you don't drop by to tanjung lumpur.Tanjung lumpur is famous for its ikan bakar or specifically ANA IKAN BAKAR PETAI.The first time i had heard about this place was through a blogger friend of mine and i had thought that it was just like any ikan bakar stall that i had visited across malaysia. But i soon find out that this place was quite unique in a sense that PETAI was not only part of the name but the famous stinking petai was the main ingredient of the ikan bakar .
The aroma of the stinking petai couple with the sweet sambal was like YING and YANG , opposite of one another yet complement each other perfectly in a circle. The petai gave a subtle bitter taste and the sambal gave a sweet and spicy taste.Combine all the flavour you'll get a masterpiece.
The seafood is fresh and reasonably price . The only disadvantage was this place tends to get overcrowded so you have to get there early.
Overall experince : A-

  1. You go there? It's a nice place, eh? Everytime I have guest coming over to Kuantan, this place is a compulsory dinner place. The sotong goreng tepung also nice, kan?

  4. I have a few in my blog as well. You should go to Santai restaurant at Tg Lumpur as well. A few junctions ahead from Ana Ikan Bakar Petai. Can see the signboard. A house renovated to be a restaurant. Special dish : Burung Puyuh Masak Pedas and Ayam Pandan. The puyuh is soo special. Tasty and spicy. The ayam pandan, so moist and fragrant with pandan leaves. Pergh... repeated menu each time, bro.

  5. We went there last Tues. Food was ok but the service was poor and slow. I am not sure whether am over sensitive or what but I observed the waiter when he took our order his face was sour but when he took orders from his own race, he was full of smile and charm. Maybe he was just having PMS that day but for me this is certainly my first and last time going to this restaurant. No matter how good is the food, but that kind of service is a no no for me.

  7. Got there around 7pm... when you were there, did they slice the Petai? In KL there is a Ikan Bakar shop at Wisma Central that use whole biji of petai instead of sliced. That was real delicious
